What Kind of Photo Works Best?

For the best engraving, send us the highest-quality original photo available. Photos taken directly from a modern smartphone or digital camera usually work very well.

For portraits, images work best when:

• The face or subject is clearly visible.

• The photo is well lit.

• The subject is reasonably large within the image.

• Important areas aren't blurry or heavily shadowed.

• The original photo is provided instead of a screenshot whenever possible.

Don't worry if the background isn't perfect. Depending on the design, we can isolate the person or pet and remove unnecessary background elements before preparing the artwork for engraving.

Older photographs may also be usable. If you're creating a memorial and only have an older or imperfect picture, send us what you have and we'll determine whether it can be prepared for crystal engraving.
